Cirrus SR-Series Aircraft Training
Known for their superior performance, the SR20, SR22, and SR22T are the leading aircraft in the Cirrus fleet. They are broadly recognized as the pinnacle of performance for single-engine, owner-flown aircraft because they are reliable, comfortable, and capable of high-speed travel.
If you're aspiring to become a safer and more confident pilot in a Cirrus SR-series aircraft, then RDS Pilot Training is for you. Under the guidance of our accredited Master Instructors, you will receive efficient, type-specific, and insurance-approved training for pilots of the Cirrus SR20, SR22, and SR22T aircraft.
You'll be taught tactical and practical piloting techniques that use checklists, flows, memory items, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) developed specifically for you and your Cirrus SR-series aircraft. You'll experience top-tier, proven training methods that leverage dedicated Cirrus SR-series procedures and the latest technology to make a tangible difference in your level of safety, confidence, and comfort.
RDS Pilot Training offers a variety of fully insured and approved initial training programs tailored to suit both newcomers and experienced SR-series pilots alike. The standard SR-series program is up to 40 hours over five consecutive days for SR22 and SR22T pilots, while the SR20 program consists of up to 30 hours over four consecutive days. All programs are performance-based, presuming the pilot is rated and current for instrument flight, has at least 500 hours of pilot in command (PIC) time in high-performance aircraft and has reviewed the aircraft flight manual (AFM), though this is not a prerequisite.
Pilots new to Cirrus SR-series aircraft often need to obtain additional dual flight instruction, known as initial operating experience (IOE), from an approved instructor. This is typically required by their insurance underwriter and goes beyond what is usually provided in a standard training program. RDS Pilot Training offers this supplemental training, which includes flight planning, weather briefing, pre-flight and post-flight inspections, classroom sessions, and impromptu briefings as needed, up to eight hours per day.
For pilots seeking further instruction, RDS Pilot Training also offers one-day and two-day recurrent pilot training. The one-day recurrent program is open to pilots who have attended approved training within the last six months or continuing customers who meet specific performance and experience standards. Discounts are offered for multiple pilots training together in all programs.
